If we were stranded on a desert island and had to take one lure with us, this one would certainly be very high on the list. It is named Whistler because it launches so fast on a typical cast from an 11-foot surf rod that it creates an audible whistle. Consider the Whistler as a part of your lure selection for those times when the fish are on that offshore bar or otherwise beyond normal casting range. We've used these lures with a high degree of success on Roosterfish, Giant Trevally, Tuna, Houndfish, Bluefish, Mahi-Mahi, and all species of Jacks.
Some use the Whistler as a launcher (aka. "Casting Egg") for a fly. Some use the dropper ahead of the lure; others trail it behind. These come with an "inshore" worthy single hook stock, but we offer them with both both upgraded inline single and trebel hook varieties for harder pulling pelagics. From the surf, or 100 miles offshore, these lures work everywhere! Made in the USA on Martha's Vineyard!
