Joe Shute Big Hole Ballyhoo Skirts

For those who buy pre rigged ballyhoo and for those that like to rig 4 or 5 dozen baits the night before fishing, Joe Shute has come out with the new Big Hole. The problem with pre-rigged baits is that they already have either the wire loop twisted in them or the loop has been already crimped. So in order to use a skirt you either had to use an octopus style skirt and snip the end off and slide it down the rig or cut the loop off to use your favorite skirt and then re-twist or re-crimp the loop on the leader. Now all you have to do is slide the lure over the loop or swivel and go fishing. When you are done fishing you can slide the lure off and clean it and put it away, then coil up your leader and store it without having your lure still on the leader. It makes keeping your rigs neater and helps from ruining your hair lures.

We have these available in 5 oz size. Aside from ballyhoo rigging, you can also run these lures rigged with a soft plastic trailer such as a Hogy, Ron-Z, or Got Stryper pin tail (this configuraton is very popular for billfish operations). 

If you choose to have this lure rigged by our team of professionals, you have the option for either pin-rigged (for "rubber band" use), or wire-rigged with 12-14" of rigging wire out of the crimp. You have a choice of monofilament and fluorocarbon rigging options as well! The PRO SERIES features an extra long 20 foot fluorocarbon leader, with a Wind-On Swivel, and an Owner Jobu Hook. The standard PRO series features a wire rig, however we do offer them in a pin rig as well.
